Homare Sawa is a former Japanese footballer. Considered one of the greatest female players ever, she had an illustrious 24-season career primarily with Nippon TV Beleza and INAC Kobe Leonessa. Leading the Japan national team for 22 years, Sawa captained them to a World Cup victory in 2011 and an Olympic silver in 2012.
