Michelle Akers is an American soccer icon, who shone at the 1991 and 1999 Women’s World Cup and 1996 Olympics. She won the Golden Boot with 10 goals in the 1991 World Cup and is considered one of the greatest female players in history. Akers received the FIFA Female Player of the Century award in 2002, sharing it with China’s Sun Wen.
